Croatia

At the moment it feels like i am unable to stay put, im constantly thinking of the next place to go or thing to do, keeping myself busy!

I have just returned from my girls holiday to Croatia, we stayed in the small old town Rovinj which was utterly stunning, every picture i took was postcard worthy.

It was a great relaxing holiday as Rovinj is packed with culture, good food and lovely seaside bars and a nice alternative to the busier resorts like Split and Dubrovnik. The best part about it all was the price, everything was amazingly cheap with a nice meal costing around £4, which for a student on a budget is ideal! Getting out there was also extremely cheap, booking at the right time meant we could get return flights from London to Pula for just £50.

We stayed a tiny bus journey away from the centre of Rovinj in Maistra apartments which i cannot recommend enough. Although the service was sometimes a bit shabby, the location (right on the beach), price and apartments themselves were perfect for us + we were upgraded for free.

The Church of St. Euphemia is the centrepiece of Rovinj, the wonderful landmark can be seen for miles and the view of Istria from the church is breathtaking, just be prepared for a bit of uphill walking. Inside the church are magnificent pieces of art that cover the ceiling and beautiful stained glass windows.

 

 

There are so many small islands dotted around the coast of Rovinj but no need to fork out on a boat trip or ferry. Grab yourself a pedalo or kayak and take a trip to red island or one of the many other Istrian islands, if you’re really lucky like we were you may get to see some dolphin
